Jerez is home to the Moto GP Spanish Grand Prix, that gathers more than 120,000 bikers every year, with an economic impact of 28 million Euros to the city. The circuit first opened in 1985 and has hosted the Grand Prix since 1987. On its early days, it also hosted some Formula 1 races.
Continuing with two wheels, Andalusia presents numerous cycling trails and bicycle paths, in addition to sporting events such as La Vuelta a Andalucía and La Vuelta a España, which runs through Andalusia in many editions.
Sierra Nevada is one of Spain’s main ski resorts. Located near the city of Granada yet only one hour away from the Mediterranean Sea, Sierra Nevada is the place to go if you like winter sports, such as skiing, snowboarding or even mushing. The resort had a revenue of 411 million Euros in 2017/2018 ski season, with a huge economic impact in the Andalusian economy.
