Meridional Events has taken part in the ITB Berlin 2021 that has virtually taken place from 9th to 12th of March. From the comfort of our offices and home-offices, we have been able to visit prospective suppliers and customers, launch meetings with them, find out about future trends or recovery roads and exchange loads of useful ideas and insights.
We assisted as part of the Andalusian Tourism Board, and along with other local companies and government bodies, we have taken part in some of the many activities prepared by ITB 2021. Within these activities, the conferences stood out. Most of them included different experts in the Tourism field, covering all sorts of matters related to current and future trends, being the main topic the road to recovery. The outcome could not be more positive: the travel industry is picking up again, slowly but surely, we will be able to resume travelling in no time. By then, Meridional Events will be ready to host your events, knowing that we have used this time to improve our skills and portfolio.
Despite ITB is an international fair, most of our prospective customers are located in Europe. Andalusia has always been known for being an outstanding holiday destination, due to our weather, beaches, gastronomy and cultural sites. However, we are evolving into a top destination when it comes to offering exceptional MICE and Corporate services. Andalusia offers renovated and business-focused hotels and restaurants, some of them awarded with prestigious Michelin stars. But Andalusia also offers convention centres built within Palaces, where tradition and technology convey to provide unique experiences and other exceptional assets to host first-class corporate events.
We have enjoyed this virtual fair and learnt a lot from fellow colleagues. By now, we are all used to our screens, to see each other's pets or children stealing the show in the background. However, in Meridional Events we are already preparing those meetings in person, sharing and tasting sustainable, local food when we are in a product launch event. That Gala Dinner venue that happens to be inside a refurbished nobiliary house dated 400 years ago, will not be fairly appreciated on a screen. Those team building, filled with fun, activities, when water splashes all over you, as opposed to your cold screen. That state of the art building can take hundreds of attendees for your annual presentation.
In any case, Meridional Events' outcome from ITB 2021 is more than positive, and we are happy to share with you that we have also had the opportunity to meet several new suppliers who have surprised us with their ideas and projects. Our portfolio is now wider and stronger than ever.
