This January, Malaga made headlines in some of the world most prestigious newspapers, Le Monde and the Financial Times.

The renowned French newspaper highlighted Malaga as one of the 5 European cities to discover this 2020, stressing how the city has dramatically changed to become a cultural hub, with an accent on the Picasso Museum and the Centre Pompidou.

Malaga has become the international hub for the South of Spain and the South of Europe and one of the most vibrant MICE destinations

The French market is the third most important at the city, after the British and the German, and this article will raise awareness and more French people will be attracted by the city and will choose to visit us. Malaga is connected by plane with 6 French cities, with a total population of 19 million people.

The Financial Times published an extensive article about Malaga’s makeover – how from being neglected by tourists and visitors it has become the international hub for the South of Spain and the South of Europe. Because of this, Malaga is one of the most vibrant MICE destinations in Europe

Malaga’s cultural offer

The article highlights the main museums of Malaga, such as the Russian Museum, the Museo de Málaga and the Ifergan Collection, besides the above-mentioned ones. The city has experienced a cultural boom, and now the visitor can find 36 museums, the majority located at the city centre, a pedestrian area that has been part of the extensive makeover the city has gone through.

The latest addition to the cultural scene in Malaga is the brand new Soho Theatre, owned and managed by Malaga’s favourite son, Antonio Banderas. There are other six theatres around town, being the Teatro Cervantes the main space, with over 1,100 seats.

The hotel offer is equally impressive, with two luxurious five-star hotels and over 25 4-star hotels (with 5 more hotels opening over the next few months). Many of these hotels have excellent meeting and events’ spaces available to host any kind of meeting or corporate event.

The city also has a state-of-the-art Conference Centre, with multiple spaces and a capacity of up to 1,000 attendees in the Auditorium, 400 attendees in a meeting room and 9,000 pax in their pavilion.

Outdoor activities in Malaga

If you choose Malaga to celebrate your company gathering, incentive trip or meeting, rest assured there are endless options for the leisure part of your stay. The Costa del Sol – of which Malaga is the capital, has the highest concentration of golf courses in Europe, so you could practise your swing under the winter sunshine.

The Mediterranean sea could also play a crucial role, and beach and water activities can be organised during your stay, like a sunset cruise or Olympic Games at the beach.

If you enjoy hiking, a visit to El Caminito del Rey is a must, as well as enjoying the natural beauty of the area by walking the Great Malaga Path, with over 745 km. As you can see, there are many options available.
