Malaga is the place to be!

We have praised Malaga before, but not as our personal preference. Some of the most prestigious publications worldwide, such as Forbes, agree to say that Malaga is the ideal place to hold your business event, be it a congress, conference or incentive trip.

There is no doubt that Malaga’s climate, with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 18 degrees, helps. Malaga also boasts renowned beaches.

Furthermore, Malaga holds an impressive artistic legacy and a renovated and well-kept historic centre. Due to the pedestrianisation of the area around the Cathedral, the Roman Theatre and the Alcazaba. We can enjoy the remains of the different civilisations that have lived in Malaga, over the 3,000 years of its history.

We can also visit some of the many museums Malaga has on offer, making it the European city with the highest concentration of museums per square kilometre. These include:

  • the Picasso Museum in the heart of the town,
  • the Pompidou Centre on the quayside,
  • the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) next to the Soho,
  • the Russian Museum Collection in St Petersburg and the Automobile and Fashion Museum in the former Tabacalera factory.

The Capital of Costa del Sol boasts many other interests that complete the wide range of cultural offerings:

  • theatres and cinemas, including Antonio Banderas’ Soho Theatre,
  • fishermen’s neighbourhoods, such as El Palo,
  • urban artistic quarters, like the Soho,
  • palaces, such as Marqués de Valdeflores,
  • unique urban food markets, the Atarazanas,
  • dream gardens, for instance, the Botanical-Historical La Concepción, or
  • its famous fotogenic Bullring, la Malagueta.

Malaga is a trendy and international city

Over the last 20 years, there has been a studied strategy of modernisation and internationalisation. Malaga has implemented policies that would please residents and tourists, and at the same time, they have retained talent and attracted new investors.

In 2007, the ‘II Malaga Strategic Plan for Knowledge’ was launched, and since then, the city has consolidated itself as an important technological reference in the world, which is supported by two pillars. On the one hand, the University of Malaga, with numerous opportunities in careers related to information, communication, technology and engineering. On the other hand, the Andalusia Technology Park (PTA) or Malaga TechParkwith 20,000 workers in more than 600 leading companies, whose turnover exceeds 2,000 million euros.

The Malaga Municipal Network of Incubators (RMI), [SP] comprises a total of twelve centres, which aim at the creation and consolidation of companies and projects. Priority is given to technological or creative-cultural projects. It could host up to 200 companies, in addition to attracting innovative projects in the so-called Smart City.

Malaga, candidate city for the Expo 2027

Malaga is the ideal candidate to host the 2027 International Exposition, as it is the perfect example of good planning. It has made population growth and urban development compatible with environmental protection. At the same time, they have guaranteed an optimal quality of life for its inhabitants.
