This week, 11 new villages were added to the Charming Villages of Spain's list, with a total of 79, with 13 of them in Andalusia.
To be part of this exclusive list, the towns and villages must comply with some rules, such as having less than 15,000 inhabitants and important architectural heritage. Other key points are the cleanliness, green areas and flower displays and the conservation of the façades.
The Andalusian towns which are part of this list are: Lucainena de las Torres and Mojácar, in Almeria; Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Vejer de la Frontera and Setenil de las Bodegas (part of the White Villages), in Cadiz; Zuheros, in Cordoba; Bubión and Capileira, in Granada; Almonaster la Real, in Huelva; Segura de la Sierra, in Jaen, and last but not least, Frigiliana, in Malaga.
There are, of course, a wide range of beautiful Andalusian towns and we would love you to discover them all, with activities for all groups, regardless of what they are looking for. Many of these towns are located inland Andalusia, but generally well connected and accessible.
If you want to know the local economy and typical products, you can discover the dehesa (a type of forest unique in the world) and the origins of Iberian ham, as well as the organic farming, the sugar cane honey, the handicrafts and other activities linked to the rural environment.
If you are planning something different, like a retreat (have you ever heard about the concept of Bleisure?) or just a bit of free time during your team building activity or incentive trip in Andalusia, consider the peace and tranquillity that can be found in the towns on our list.
