Sierra Nevada faces new challenges and has designed a roadmap, the Sierra Nevada Strategic Plan 2020 - 2030. The main pillars are the sustainability and preservation of the ski resort and the National Park, stressing the importance of efficiency at the resort.
The main actions already scheduled are the replacement of the snow machines, the renovation of the mechanical systems, and a new design of the ski lifts. These actions will improve the efficiency of the resort and also reduce energy consumption, becoming more sustainable.
Another important aspect Sierra Nevada is fighting for is to reduce the carbon footprint, by introducing new measures to improve the mobility at the resort and the management of the water resources and waste management.
