Imex 2018 took place last week in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Andalusia was very present. The convention bureaux of the main cities – Seville, Granada and Malaga–Costa del Sol, showcased the region’s potential when it comes to MICE and corporate events.
Andalusia had a stand within the Turespaña complex, where meetings between Andalusian tourism experts and their US counterparts took place. We cannot forget almost 600,000 US citizens visited Andalusia in 2017, a growth of almost 190% since 2014, where only 317,000 visited our region. It is then crucial to advertise our potential not only as a leisure destination but also as a cultural, golf and MICE one.
The MICE and corporate sector help, along with the golf tourism, to break the seasonality that has characterised our region for a long time (excluding Granada and the ski resorts).
