Andalusia, a safe destination

golf clubs ready

09/06/2020

This week, Andalusia enters “Phase 3” of the “new normal” era. This means shops and restaurants can increase their capacity, meetings, weddings and other social gatherings are less restricted and hotels can open with 50% capacity in public areas.

Slowly but surely, we enter into what could probably be one of the most unusual summers ever. After being in lockdown for several weeks (depending on where you are reading this from!), it seems like all we want is to enjoy, make the most of the summer and travel, if possible.

11% of the hotel bookings in the world for summer 2020 are for hotels located in Andalusia. Spain is the most booked country, with 34% of hotel reservations worldwide

Travelgate, one of the most renowned tourism + tech companies in the world, published last week that Andalusia is the most booked region in the world for this summer 2020. 11% of the world hotel bookings are for hotels in Andalusia. Spain is also the number one country chosen for holidays, with almost 34% of the world hotel and apartments’ booking (including Andalusia, which is also the leading region, with a 32% of the country’s bookings).

A few weeks ago, Meridional Events took part in dozens of meetings with multiple tourism entities, including IAGTO, where the future of golf in Andalusia after Covid-19 was discussed. We can now say that Golf in Andalusia is also open for business, with over 90% of the golf courses in Costa del Sol already open and welcoming players. The Costa del Golf includes some of the best golf courses in Marbella area, that welcome more than 600,000 golfers yearly.

In Meridional Events, we help you organise your golf holidays in Malaga, golf breaks in Marbella and golf vacations at the Costa del Sol. You can rely on us to guarantee that your stay will be 100% safe, choosing the best golf courses and respecting all the security measures in place.

Also, airlines are slowly resuming their flight activity and hope to be operating, at least at 50% capacity on the coming weeks. 15 airlines will be already flying to and from Malaga airport in July. This translates in thousands of flights only in Europe, that will also contribute to establish the much sought-after “new normal”.

Andalusia is ready to welcome visitors. Hotels, restaurants, museums, golf courses and other venues follow strict health and safety measures for the client’s peace of mind

As you can see, Andalusia is ready and looking forward to receiving visitors and tourists from all over the world. The client’s safety is the centre of everything – all hotels, restaurants, museums, golf courses, venues and any other business that welcome people, are following strict security measures to guarantee all spaces are as aseptic as possible.
