This week, 11 new villages were added to the Charming Villages of Spain’s list, with a total of 79, with 13 of them in Andalusia.
To be part of this exclusive list, the towns and villages must comply with some rules, such as having less than 15,000 inhabitants and important architectural heritage. Other key points are the cleanliness, green areas and flower displays and the conservation of the façades.
The Andalusian towns which are part of this list are: Lucainena de las Torres and Mojácar, in Almeria; Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Vejer de la Frontera and Setenil de las Bodegas (part of the White Villages), in Cadiz; Zuheros, in Cordoba; Bubión and Capileira, in Granada; Almonaster la Real, in Huelva; Segura de la Sierra, in Jaen, and last but not least, Frigiliana, in Malaga.
There are, of course, a wide range of beautiful Andalusian towns and we cannot wait for you to discover them all. If you are planning something different, like a retreat (have you heard about the concept of Bleisure?) or just some time off during your team building or incentive trip to Andalusia, do consider the peace and quiet of the above-mentioned towns. You will for sure relax and recharge batteries for a while!
